BNSF (5948 at Rio Puerco, NM on February 15, 2014.

BNSF ES44AC 5948 is the lead unit of an interesting power lashup passing Rio Puerco, NM on February 15, 2014. This was one of two back to back westbound coal trains. Each had an interesting power consist which reflects BNSF's current thirst for locomotives because of the increased demand in power requirements the North Dakota oil fields tank trains. The trailing units are BNSF SD70MAC 9481, NS C40-8W 8428 and BNSF C44-9W 4771. Additional distributed power on the rear was BNSF SD70MAC 8854 and ES44AC 6147. The paint on both of the SD70MAC's is really showing the wear from long service.
